The ITER venture is a joint international analysis and growth project to reveal the scientific and technical feasibility of fusion power. The demonstration facility is underneath construction in St-Paul-lez-Durance in France, and will be the largest fusion experimental reactor on the planet.
Hayward Tyler’s booster pumps will be an integral a part of the drying system for the Tokamak Cooling Water System (TCWS). The pumps will be designed, constructed and tested at Hayward Tyler Inc in Colchester, Vermont, USA.
Hayward Tyler and Energy Steel are both part of the Engineered Pumps and Motors Division of Avingtrans plc.
“We are elated that two of our firms can supply products that will contribute to this formidable venture,” stated Mike Turmelle, managing director of Avingtrans’ Engineered Pumps and Motors Division. “ Scientifically proven ’re dedicated and proud to contribute to the superior nuclear industry.” These contracts follow previous awards that ITER has made to Avingtrans’ Engineered Pumps and Motors Division.
