KSB completes expansion of GIW’s Grovetown facility

Savings has announced the completion of its US$44 million multiphase growth of the GIW facility in Grovetown, Georgia, USA.
Expires expanded GIW manufacturing advanced in Grovetown.
The first two phases of the enlargement had been approved in 2013 in response to rising market demand for larger tools. Since then, the Grovetown facility has accomplished upgrades, added tens of hundreds of square ft to its foundry, elevated furnace capability, accomplished construction on a distribution centre, and gained approval for three extra phases of enchancment.
With the completion of the challenge, KSB has quadrupled its capability to mould castings over 20,000 lbs (9000 kg), increased its most pouring output by up to sixty six,000 lbs (30,000 kg), lowered the variety of required shot blast runs by 50%, added particular cleansing stations for giant castings, implemented new expertise and effectivity solutions, and doubled employee locker room amenities.
KSB went forward with the project’s completion, regardless of the Covid-19 pandemic and its financial fallout.
“Our customers in the mining industry are doing important work to maintain the economic system afloat. KSB is extra committed than ever to offering our companions with an uninterrupted supply of pumps and elements. Completing this growth improves our ability to serve our customers, and we’ll cease at nothing to assist the success of our clients’ operations,” says Wolfgang Demmler, president of KSB Mining.
In 2020, the KSB Group launched KSB Mining, a new market-driven group providing expertise on centrifugal pumps to mining operations.
The expanded amenities in Grovetown serve as the headquarters of GIW Slurry Pumps.
GIW at present employs over 600 individuals at its Grovetown facility.
